This is a fun, outdoor educational activity for the entire family.

Enjoy the outdoors and read the book Speak Up by Wisconsin author Miranda Paul on our kid-friendly boardwalk trail. This book celebrates diversity and encourages kids to speak up, unite with others, and take action when they see a way that they can help others.

Reading stations will be set up along the boardwalk for a self-guided walk to read a page or two at each station. Visit each station to read the entire book and pick up a take and make craft to complete at home.

After completing the book, be sure to explore the Conservancy Zone and trails.

This is a FREE program for everyone.

Can’t make it out to the walk? Tune in to the Library’s Facebook Live and YouTube at 3:00 that afternoon for a special storytime with Stephanie from 1000 Islands and Angela from Kaukauna Public Library! They read you the featured story and share information and read-alike books related to the story.

Follow the 1000 Islands Environmental Center on Facebook to be notified when the video is posted. Watch anytime after that from the Videos tab on our Facebook page.
