This is a fun, educational activity for the entire family.

Enjoy the outdoors and read the book Flowers are Calling by Rita Gray on our kid-friendly boardwalk trail. Flowers are calling to all the animals of the forest, “Drink me!”—but it’s the pollinators who feast on their nectar. In rhyming poetic form and with luminous artwork, this book shows us the marvel of natural cooperation between plants, animals, and insects as they each play their part in the forest’s cycle of life.

Reading stations will be set up along the boardwalk for a self-guided walk to read a page or two at each station. Visit each station to read the entire book.

After completing the book, be sure to take a hike on our trails in the Conservancy Zone and stop in the Nature Center building to explore more!

This is a FREE program.
