Virtual Book Club – “A Sand County Almanac” by Aldo Leopold @ 1000 Islands Environmental Center
Jan 26 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Do you miss social engagement? Join us as we pilot an environmentally focused book club.

Read the month’s selected book, find a cozy place in your house and join us on a Zoom call as we discuss the book and how it connects to current environmental topics. Join our 1000 Islands Reads Facebook group for more information.

January’s book: A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. A free PDF copy is on-line. Just search “A Sand County Almanac” and it should come up.

A Sand County Almanac, Aldo Leopold’s “The Land Ethic” essay is an appeal for moral responsibility to the natural world. Ethics direct all members of a community to treat one another with respect. A land ethic, Leopold wrote, “simply enlarges the boundaries of the community” to include not only humans, but also soils, waters, plants, and animals—or what Leopold called “the land.”

Call the Nature Center at 920-766-4733 for more information.
