Large/Irregular/Branch Pick-Up
Jun 14 – Jun 17 all-day

Pick-up on your garbage collection day only.

Large/Irregular Pick-Up

Second full week of each month (Sunday – Saturday). Overflow of garbage, furniture, mattress etc. may be placed out for pickup. All major appliances will need a sticker before placing out for collection. You may purchase a sticker from the Street and Park Department at 207 Reaume Avenue, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. Refrigerants (freezer, refrigerator, air conditioner or dehumidifier) are $15.00. Non-Refrigerants (stove, microwave, oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, furnace or water heater) are $10.00. You may also place out any other metal items at this time for no charge.

Branch Pick-Up

Brush Collection Ordinance 11.11(4)(c)

  1. Brush must be a minimum of two (2) feet and a maximum of six (6) feet in length. Brush two (2) feet to four (4) feet in length must be bundled and secured with twine or string. Bundles and/or branches shall not exceed 50 pounds in weight. Bundles shall not be greater than 15 inches in diameter. Side branches on larger limbs shall be removed.
  2. All brush to be collected must be placed at the curb or alley line, but no more than 24 hours prior to the time of collection. Maximum height of such brush piles shall be four (4) feet from ground level. Brush is not to be placed in any container.
  3. All brush must be loosely and neatly placed for collection. The butt ends of all branches shall face the roadway.
  4. Roots shall be removed from brush.
  5. Brush shall only be placed for collection by the owner or occupant who performed the brush trimming/removal and not by any contractor performing such work. Any such contractor shall be responsible for removal of any brush created by his/her work.
  6. In addition to any other penalty, any brush placed for collection which is in violation of this ordinance shall not be collected until such violation has been corrected.

Goats will be on-site working to eradicate invasive plants such as buckthorn, poison ivy, and garlic mustard. Come watch them work!

A STORYBOOK WALK AND ADVENTURE – Reading the book “Let’s Count Goats!” @ 1000 Islands Environmental Center
Jun 15 @ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

This is a fun, educational activity for the entire family.

Enjoy the outdoors and read the book Let’s Count Goats! by Mem Fox on our kid-friendly boardwalk trail. Reading stations will be set up along the boardwalk for a self-guided walk to read a page or two at each station. Visit each station to read the entire book and pick up a take and make craft to complete at home.

After completing the book, be sure to stop and see the goats on-site working to help remove invasive species (buckthorn and garlic mustard).

This is a FREE program for everyone.

Common Council Meeting

The regular meetings of the Common Council are held on the first and third Tuesday in each month at 7:00 PM, except when such Tuesday falls on a holiday or election day, the meeting shall be held on Wednesday following such Tuesday. Special meetings may be called in accordance with Section 62.11(2), Wisconsin Statutes.

1000 Little Wonders – Will be reading the book “Come Along, Daisy” @ 1000 Islands Environmental Center
Jun 18 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am

This will be an outside, in-person class for children ages 3 – 5 years old and their parent/guardian.

Miss Stephanie will start by reading the book Come Along, Daisy by Jane Simmons and she will take a short hike with the children around the property to learn more about birds that live in the water and their babies. Please dress accordingly and the trails/grass may be muddy.

Conservancy Crusaders – Reading the book “Near One Cattail – Turtles, Logs and Leaping Frogs” @ 1000 Islands Environmental Center

This will be an outside, in-person class for children ages 6 – 10 years old.

Miss Stephanie will start by reading the book Near One Cattail – Turtles, Logs and Leaping Frogs by Anthony Fredericks and then get a chance to go off-trail and discover what we find when we search on the shoreline of the Fox River and Konkapot Creek. Please dress accordingly.

Recycle Pick Up
Jun 21 all-day

Recycling is picked up every other week on your garbage collection day.

Because your garbage and recycling is collected on the same day, we ask that you separate your trash from your recycling (set trash on one side of driveway and recyclables on the other).

Make sure to have your recycling out either the night before or by 6:00 a.m.
