Advertisement for Bids – Grand Kakalin Overlook

Bid Opening:        November 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm

Sealed bids for the project designated above will be received for and in behalf of the City of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, at the location listed above, on or before the above mentioned time and date, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Work of this contract consists of the site improvements to the river walk adjacent to the Kaukauna Library at the corner of Catherine Street and Stribley Road. Work is scheduled to commence upon selection of a qualified contractor which will take place during the month of November 2017. Duration of construction is estimated at 1 months from notice to proceed to final completion.

A single lump sum bid will be required for all of the work.

Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according to the Contract Documents prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. dated October 6, 2017.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the Bidder’s Bond or Certified Check in the amount equal to at least 10 percent of the amount of the total bid, which shall be forfeited to the City of Kaukauna in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract.

Bids shall be directed to the Owner securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper “BID FOR GRAND KAKALIN OVERLOOK” by November 6, 2017 6:00 pm.

Each General Contractor is required to attend a pre-bid meeting at the project site (meet at the corner of Catherine Street & Stribley Road) in Kaukauna, WI on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. to become acquainted with the various Construction and demolition work items and bid procedures. Any subcontractors unable to attend are encouraged to arrange a site visit with the Owner at a later date.

The City of Kaukauna reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

Bidders will be requested to submit “Bidders Proof of Responsibility Statements” Which will be available at the pre-bid conference or can be obtained at the City of Kaukauna Clerk’s office or on their website at:

Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount.

This Work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

City of Kaukauna reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
